SPAIN

In the third quarter of 2015, the Spanish transactional market registered a 99.95% increase in investment volume, compared with the same period last year, generating approximately EUR 43.52bn. On the other hand, the number of deals reduced slightly, with a total of 426 this year compared, with 438 in the third quarter of 2014.

Out of the 426 deals this quarter, 319 were M&A, while 107 were recorded in the private equity or venture capital sectors (sometimes both). In this respect, there were 48 private equity deals and 64 venture capital.

PORTUGAL

In the third quarter of 2015, the Portuguese transactional market registered 52 deals, which generated approximately EUR 3.75bn. Out of these transactions, 39 were M&A, three were venture capital and 10 were private equity deals.

In annual terms, in 2015, the Portuguese market registered 169 transactions, generating approximately EUR 12.58bn. The most active sectors were the financial and insurance (23), real estate (22) technology (19) and Healthcare, Hygiene and Aesthetics (10).
