With a view to helping clients respond more quickly and effectively to the growing business opportunities between Brazil and the main countries that are trading partners and have fast-growing economies, TozziniFreire pioneered the creation of foreign practice groups (Desks) in America Latin. Starting with Asian countries (practice groups from China, Korea and Japan) and quickly replicating the initiative to other markets (German-speaking and Latin American countries), the Desks have professionals familiar with the culture and legal practices and trade relations in each region, and who are constantly updated on the evolution of bilateral trade relations between Brazil and these countries.



China

Bearing in mind the growing importance of China in the global economic scenario and especially in trade relations with Brazil, we created the China Desk, composed of professionals with experience in Chinese culture and with experience in advising Chinese and Brazilian companies with investments and bilateral business. The group has already advised several large Chinese companies and financial institutions on investments and operations in Brazil, as well as Brazilian companies on their investments in China.



Japan

Our relationships with Japanese companies span decades. As part of TozziniFreire's initiative to offer tailored services to Japanese clients, we structured the Japan Desk, which has been constantly and significantly expanded, and is now one of the largest law firms in Brazil. With a multidisciplinary approach, we fully advise Japanese companies on their business in the country, with significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure projects, establishment of subsidiaries, joint ventures with local partners and in the marketing of their products in the Brazilian market. Our clients include many of Japan's largest trading companies, as well as large and medium-sized industrial and financial companies. The group also works in partnership with law firms in Japan and with the Japanese branches of international law firms that operate in global acquisitions involving Brazilian and Japanese companies.



Korea

Our Korea Desk is one of the most active among TozziniFreire's Foreign Desks, having advised large Korean investments in Brazil. We are recognized as a reference in the market for our work for Korean companies in their business in the country and for our role in strengthening relations between Korea and Brazil in strategic discussions involving areas of interest to both countries. Our customers in the area span a wide spectrum of sectors of the economy, such as electronics, food, medical products and services, automotive, finance, steel, heavy industry, mining, shipping, import and export, pharmaceutical, chemical and consumer goods.



German speaking countries

Our German Language Countries Desk is made up of professionals from different areas and advises German, Austrian and Swiss companies (DACH region) in their business in Brazil, especially in mergers and acquisitions, establishment of subsidiaries, joint ventures with Brazilian companies and trade in Brazilian market. In recent years, we have advised not only some of the most relevant DACH companies, but also representative medium-sized companies in various types of business. The group also works with foreign law firms in acquisitions involving companies from the DACH region and Brazilian companies, as well as advising Brazilian companies interested in expanding their operations to DACH countries, and defending the interests of Brazilian companies in foreign jurisdictions through an interface with foreign offices.
