In 1Q16, the M&A market in Brazil registered 20% fewer transactions, compared to the same period of 2015. In total, 198 transactions were registered, turning over BRL 29.72bn, 12% more than in the same period of 2015. In the first three months of the year, there was a 35% increase in the number of transactions in the Technology sector and a 15% increase in the Financial and Insurance sector, compared to 1Q15. Regarding acquisitions carried out by foreign companies in Brazil (Inbound transactions), so far 47 have been registered. The largest foreign buyer, the United States, only carried out 18 transactions, which represents a 28% decrease in the number of transactions registered in the same period of 2015.
