In October, the Brazilian transactional market's activity decreased slightly compared with September, with 80 deals registered, both announced and closed. The investment volume generated BRL 50,35bn, taking into account deals with disclosed values. However, the number of deals registered is above the average of the last 10 months. In the same period last year, 64 deals were registered, generating approximately BRL 13,8bn.

The largest deal this month was the merger between PT - Portugal Telecom and Brazil-based Oi. The Brazilian operator will integrate PT - Portugal Telecom, in a transaction of approximately BRL 32,13bn.

This month the transactional market's activity involving private equity and venture capital firms continued to increase, for a second consecutive month. A total of 21 deals were registered, generating BRL 1,46bn, taking into account deals with disclosed values.

Regarding capital markets, highlights include the IPO launched by Grupo Ser Educacional, which generated BRL 538,63m. In addition, Anima Educação carried out an IPO that generated BRL 468,22m. The two companies operate in the education segment.
