Brazil's merger and acquisition market recorded 245 deals in 2Q17, a slight increase of 4.7% over 2Q16. Of this amount, 104 had their values disclosed and resulted in a total of R$63.3bn, up 121% over the same period in 2016. The most active subsectors of the quarter were Technology (47 transactions), Financial and Insurance (36) and Distribution and Retail (25). The total accumulated in the first half of 2017 was 513 transactions and R$140.5bn. Financial and Insurance sector grew 53% in 1H17.
