SPAIN

According to Transactional Track Record's quarterly M&A Report, Spain's mergers and acquisitions market closed the first nine months of 2019 with 1,664 transactions and a moved capital of EUR 53.56bn. The report also provides a complete analysis about the most prominent transactions of the cross-border segment, as well as the market's most active sectors, which shows Real Estate is still the sector with the highest number of deals, with 442 transactions. Meanwhile, both the Private Equity and Venture Capital segments registered a downturn on this period regarding the number of deals, comparing with the same period the previous year. The league tables in the last pages of the report reflect the activity of the legal and financial advisors, based on transactions announced in 2019 YTD.

PORTUGAL

According to Transactional Track Record's quarterly M&A Report, throughout 2019, the Portuguese market registered 271 transactions, showing greater dynamism compared with the same period of 2018. The report provides a detailed analysis of the last four quarters, which gives a full picture of the dynamic of the transactional market for the Corporate sector and for Private Equity, Venture Capital and Asset Acquisition. The section allocated to the cross-border segment presents the most attractive sectors for foreign capital, as well as the country of origin of those investments.
