SPAIN

According to Transactional Track Record's monthly M&A Report, Spain's mergers and acquisitions market closed 2019 with 2,532 transactions and a moved capital of EUR 89.76bn. The report also provides a complete analysis about the most prominent transactions of the cross-border segment, as well as the market's most active sectors, which shows Real Estate is the sector with the highest number of deals, with 639 transactions. Meanwhile, both the Private Equity and Venture Capital segments registered a downturn regarding the number of deals, comparing with the previous year. The league tables in the last pages of the report reflect the activity of the legal and financial advisors, based on transactions announced in 2019.

PORTUGAL

According to Transactional Track Record's 4Q19 M&A Report, both the number of transactions and the moved capital registered in 2019 are higher than those of 2018. The report also provides updated data on different aspects and behavior of the Portuguese M&A market, such as the consolidation of the Spain as the foreign country making the most investments in Portugal and at the same time being the preferred destination for cross-border investment by Portugal-based companies. Additionally, it includes sectoral information and figures of the Private Equity and Venture Capital segments. The league tables in the last pages of the report reflect the activity of the legal and financial advisors, based on transactions announced in 2019 YTD.
