SPAIN

According to Transactional Track Record's monthly M&A Report, Spain's mergers and acquisitions market closed the first four months of 2020 with 595 transactions and a moved capital of EUR 12.16bn, affected by the COVID-19 health crisis. The report also provides a complete analysis about the most prominent transactions of the cross-border segment, as well as the market's most active sectors, which shows Real Estate remains as the sector with the highest number of deals, with 142 transactions. Meanwhile, both the Private Equity and Venture Capital segments registered a downturn regarding both number of deals and moved capital, comparing with the previous year. The league tables in the last pages of the report reflect the activity of the legal and financial advisors, based on transactions announced in 2020.

PORTUGAL

According to TTR-Transactional Track Records's April report, between January and April the Portuguese transactional market totaled EUR 6.47bn, a 14.17% decrease compared with the same period of 2019. The same type of analysis is available on the pages allocated to Venture Capital, which shows the scene is still favorable for those type of investments. Meanwhile, the pages focusing on the cross-border sphere present the most attractive sectors for foreign capital, as well as the country of origin of those investments.
