SPAIN
In the first two months of the year, the Spanish transactional market registered 308 mergers and acquisitions, including announced and closed, with an aggregated value of EUR 11.95bn, according to the TTR Monthly Report. These figures entail an increase of 1.65% in the number of transactions and 0.31% in their value compared to the same period of 2016. Meanwhile, in February 2017, 152 transactions were recorded, of which 58 have a combined deal value of EUR 6.6bn, entailing a decrease of 11.63% in the number of transactions and 21.98% in their value, compared to February 2016.
PORTUGAL
Portugal's M&A market recorded 29 transactions in the shortest month of the year, up 21% over the same period in 2016, according to TTR Report. Seven transactions had their values disclosed and sum € 1.2bn, up 30% over the previous year. The result of the first two months of 2017 was 55 transactions and € 2.4bn, an increase of 58%.
