In May, the Latin American transactional market’s activity decreased compared with the previous year. Specifically, there was a 7.6% decrease compared with the same period in 2014; a total of 120 transactions were recorded.
Nonetheless, several relevant deals were registered in the high-end market in deal size (>USD 500m). Highlights include the proposal submitted by US-based Harbour Energy and by Mexico-based Alfa to acquire Canada-based Pacific Rubiales. The deal value was approximately USD 4.5bn.
