BRAZIL
The Brazilian transactional market returned to its usual dynamic in March; increasing by 13.84% compared to February and 4.22% compared to January, in both registered and announced deals. The acquisitions by foreign companies in Brazil increased by 93.3% versus February, and Asian countries were responsible for 10.79% of all transactions. The services and distribution sector was particularly active, with 16 deals registered. The largest deal of the month was made by Credit Suisse Group exercising the option to acquire a 50% stake in Credit Suisse Hedging-Griffo. The deal value was BRL 1,250bn. In addition Riverwood Capital acquired Mandic for BRL 100m, and Hidro Jet acquired Micoinox for BRL 32m.

LATIN AMERICA
The Latin American transactional market was particularly active in March, with a slight increase in the number of deals registered compared to the previous month. Argentina registered the largest number of deals, followed by Chile and México; continuing the tendency of preceding months. Furthermore the financial and insurance sector was significant in all countries, registering some of the largest deals of the month. Corpbanca closed the acquisition of Banco Santander Colômbia for USD 1,225bn (BRL 2,200bn). In addition, Estrella Overseas closed the acquisition of a 51% stake in Zigma Colombia Petroleum Services, for an undisclosed amount.
