The value of registered transactions in Mexico's M&A market underwent a 59.81% increase in May, compared to the same month in 2015. Likewise, the number of transactions increased, from 27 registered in May 2015 to 31 registered in May 2016.
Meanwhile, so far this year, 11 transactions have been registered, with a combined value of USD 12.382bn.

Mexico - April 2016

The value of venture capital transactions in the Mexican transactional market experienced thus far this year a year-on-year increase of 17.34%, though 3 fewer transactions were registered, compared to the same period of 2015.
In monthly terms, there were 3 private equity and 2 venture capital transactions in April, worth a combined USD 572.61m. Divided into sectors, the most active during 2016 have been the financial and insurance sector and food and beverage, both with 10 deals. Mexico - First Quarter 2016

In 1Q16, the transactional market in Mexico closed with a total of 55 mergers and acquisitions, with a combined deal value of USD 7.374bn, which represents a year-on-year decrease of 16.67%  in the number of transactions and of 9.85% in deal value. Regarding sectors, the most active ones so far have been the tourism, hotel, and restaurant sector, with six transactions; the real estate, and insurance and financial sectors, with five transactions; and the food and beverage sector, with four. In February 2016, the Mexican transactional market registered a total of 20 mergers and acquisitions, generating an aggregate value of approximately USD 2.05bn, equivalent to a 11.11% increase in the number of deals and an 8.79% in its aggregate value, compared with the same period last year.
The most active sectors, so far this year, were the real estate with five deals, tourism, hotels and restaurants, and food and beverage, with four deals each, and distribution and retail with three transactions.

Mexico - January 2016

In January 2016, the Mexican transactional market registered a total of 16 mergers and acquisitions, both announced and closed, generating an aggregate value of approximately USD 3.5bn. Both the number of transactions and its aggregate value were lower than in January 2015. Out of these 16 deals, two correspond to the high-end market in deal size (>USD 500m), two to the mid-market (between USD 100m and USD 500m) and five to the smaller market (less than USD 100m). The deal value of remaining seven transactions was not disclosed.

Mexico - Annual 2015

In 2015, the Mexican transactional market registered a 4.17% increase in investment volume, compared with the previous year, which generated approximately USD 35.30bn. Although the number of deals recorded, in 2015, were 303, compared with 337, in 2014.
In terms of quarters, a total of 69 deals were recorded in the fourth quarter of 2015, which generated approximately USD 3.16bn. Out of these transactions, 42 were assets, two were venture capital and four were private equity deals.
