The Mexican transactional market was dynamic, yet again. In November, a total of 18 deals were registered, which represents a 12.5% increase compared with the same period last year. The investment volume generated was approximately USD 4.86bn, a 30.9% increase compared with November 2013. In October, the Mexican transactional market’s activity decreased. A total of 15 deals were registered and an investment volume of USD 3.1bn, compared with 16 deals in the same period last year, and an investment volume of USD 4.91bn. However, so far this year – between January and October – a total of 186 deals were recorded compared with 175 in the 12 months of 2013. Mexico - First, Second & Third Quarter 2014

The Mexican Government reforms continue to encourage the transactional market. In the third quarter of 2014, the number of mergers and acquisitions increased by 63.8% compared with the previous quarter, and 45.3% with respect to the same period last year. In August, the Mexican transactional market was, again, particularly dynamic. A total of 26 M&A deals were registered, which represents a 4% increase compared with the same period last year, and 13% increase compared with July. In addition, the investment volume also increased, generating USD 2.66bn, compared with USD 2.51bn in August 2013, and USD 455.7m in July 2014.

Mexico - July 2014

In July, the Mexican transactional market registered the largest number of deals so far this year. A total of 23 transactions were recorded, which represents a 109% increase compared with the same period last year, and a 27.7% increase compared with the previous month. On the other hand, the investment volume decreased to USD 392m, compared with USD 1.14bn in July 2013 and USD 10.02bn in June of this year.

In the second quarter of 2014, the Mexican transactional market was strong and dynamic, both in number of deals registered and the investment volume generated. The number of transactions, both announced and closed, increased by 24.4%, compared with the same period last year; 34 deals in 2013 and 45 this year.
The investment volume generated between April and July was USD 13.59bn.
