So far this year, the M&A Market in Spain has registered 1382 transactions and a value of EUR 91.752,88m, which represents an increase of 24.33% compared to the same period of 2015. The increase occurred despite a 3.29% decrease in the number of deals, compared to the same period of 2015, when were registered 1429 transactions. This situation can be explained by the large operations such as the merging of Coca-Cola into Coca-Cola European Partners, valued at EUR 20,000m; Gamesa's integration with Siemens' wind business, valued at EUR 6.615,56m; and the acquisition of IDC Salud by Fresenius, valued at EUR 5.760m.

PORTUGAL

The M&A Market in Portugal registered a total of 208 transactions, between January and September 2016, which represents an increase of 13.66% over the same period of 2015. The total volume traded was EUR 7,42bn, considering that only 88 transactions had their value disclosed. In the 3rd quarter of 2016, 79 transactions were registered, representing an increase of 33.90% compared to 2015. Regarding the total traded value and bearing in mind only transactions with disclosed value, EUR 1,76bn represents a 70,24% decrease, compared to the same period of 2015.
