Mergers and acquisitions in Latin America have risen 3% so far this year

The mergers and acquisitions market in Latin America recorded a total of 1,317 transactions of this type between January and May, which implies an increase of 3.21% in the number of operations, when compared to the same period in 2021, according to it is explained in the Transactional Track Record monthly report, next to Datasite.

Of all the transactions 597 disclosed their amount, in which a total of US$39,540 million were registered, a decrease of 44.83%, compared to the same period in 2021. In May alone, 193 mergers and acquisitions were carried out in the region , between announced and closed, for an aggregate amount of US$5,781 million.

In geographical terms, Brazil continues to lead the mergers and acquisitions market in Latin America, according to registered data, with 930 operations, 9% more than between January and May of the previous year, with mobilized capital of US$25,968 million, that is, 42% less.
