In the first semester of 2015, the Colombian transactional market was dynamic, with a 9% increase in the number of deals registered; 96 transactions were recorded compared with 88 in the same period last year. The investment volume generated in the first six months of 2015 was approximately USD 3.52bn. Highlights include the acquisitions made by Colombia-based Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM) abroad. One was Chile-based Aguas de Antofagasta (ADASA), for approximately USD 965m, and the other was Brazil-based Taesa, for USD 507.12m.

By countries and in terms of number of deals: Colombia was the third most active country, preceded by Brazil, with 457 and Mexico (167). This semester, Colombia climbed one position, since in 2014 it was the fourth most active country preceded by Brazil, Mexico and Chile.
