According to Transactional Track Record's Monthly M&A Report, in the first five months of 2018, the moved capital in Spain's M&A market is higher, for the first time of the year, to the one registered in the same period of 2017, though the number of transactions is still slightly lower. The report also provides updated data on different aspects and behaviors of the Spanish market: some particularly deep-rooted, such as the prevalence of real estate as the market with the most transactions, and the high degree of interaction with the US, the foreign country that invests the most in Spain and one of the main destinations for Spanish investment. As always, the report includes a breakdown of the data of the Private Equity and Venture Capital segments, and the TTR interview: in this occasion, to EY España Partner Juan López del Alcázar, who analyzes some key aspects of Spain's private equity market.

PORTUGAL

De acordo com o Relatório Mensal de M&A do TTR - Transactional Track Record, o mercado de fusões e aquisições portugues manteve o menor dinamismo já observado no primeiro trimestre. Houve um salto considerável no valor total em maio devido ao anuúncio da OPA da EDP - Energias de Portugal. Nas páginas dedicadas ao âmbido cross-border, as análises de correlação entre países estrangeiros investindo em Portugal e os subsetores alvo destes investimentos, permite constatar que as empresas espanholas continuam sendo as que mais realizam aquisições de empresas portuguesas. Do ponto de vista setorial, o relatório permite perceber a evolução percentual, em número e valor, das fusões e aquisições envolvendo o setor imobiliário, o mais ativo dos últimos três anos.
