Carlos Blanco joins Squire Patton Boggs

Squire Patton Boggs has hired Carlos Blanco (pictured), an M&A and private equity lawyer, as a partner in its global corporate practice.

Carlos Blanco joins from Roca Junyent to strengthen Squire Patton Boggs’ transactional commercial and private equity practice in Madrid with a team of three lawyers comprising Javier Arenas, Elena Ferrer and Iñigo Oliván.

Blanco has more than 15 years of experience advising national and international clients in a wide variety of sectors, with particular emphasis on telecommunications, energy and technology and digital development. In particular in the telecommunications sector, he has advised on relevant transactions involving the sale and purchase of FTTH networks. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions (LBO, MBO, MBI), private equity and venture capital. Blanco joins Squire Patton Boggs from Roca Junyent, where he was head of the corporate department and its Madrid office, having previously worked at Uría Menendez, a law firm from which he left to set up his own firm, specialising in corporate advisory, with a particular focus on mid-market M&A and venture capital. Carlos Blanco is one of the most active lawyers in acquisitions according to the TTR ranking and is recognised in the area of mergers and acquisitions by the main legal directories.
