Brazil's merger and acquisition market recorded 79 transactions in August, a 22.87% increase over the same period of 2016. Out of this, 33 operations had their values disclosed which exceeded BRL 14.2 billion. The most active sector, following the trend of the last three years, is still Technology, though it registered 14% fewer operations in 2017 than in the previous year. The Financial and Insurance sector was the highlight, with a 12% increase in number of deals this year.
